Thanks for the efforts trying to capture the bronze tint Lars, very subtle though isn't it?
And you've got Peetz working over-time on the cases as we speak, right? ;)

So, I received my AP Alien Monday of last week after having it repaired. I have been too busy to open it up until today. In short, I love it. George covered shipping back and forth in order to fix it and personally took care of this for me. Classy service as usual from CM.
The issues that I had were corrected: the toe nail was painted. The lean was fixed by filling the back hole and then creating a new one closer to the center. The smudge/rub in the back of the dome was fixed.
George also improved the dome by giving it a slight spray coat to make it darker, more organic and shinier. The front of the face (the front of the dome) is now mostly dark and shiny. If your Alien has shiny black gums by his teeth then that's the kind of shine I mean. The length of the dome is decently transparent like before but now with a slight tint. The tint has gotten rid of (hidden?) what looked like a bit of fading of the plastic material the dome was made of. Fading in the sense that it wasn't crystal clear like glass. It looked more like plastic. Now the tint fixes that. A nice touch on something that I noticed and apparently George did too once he worked on it.
Overall, I am very happy. I am glad I took the time to contact George and correct the issues it had. The lean wasn't a life-shattering thing, but I assume in the long term it would have bothered me. I'll try to post pics over the weekend when we have better light. It's rainy over here today.

Glad to read that you took the decision to send back and have everything corrected, especially given the level of service you received Jose. :top:
Some pictures of the new Alien all complete would be marvellous. :thank:

I'll get some pics up on Saturday for you guys. :top:
It's funny. I had this piece set up a few days before I shipped it back for repair. I liked it very much then between the Predator and T-800. I guess the flaws did bother me more than I cared to admit because I keep comparing and contrasting then vs. now.
I just set it up today and it has an extra "WOW" factor to it. Knowing all the flaws have been fixed and this is pretty much as perfect as it gets really makes the piece feel special in my collection. :box:

So glad to hear it Jose, can't wait to see it, I as you know always like the sockets showing at least a bypt , but when I got my dome back from George and it was painted dark and as you say also a faded tint , it really too has a more wow factor and I love the look, bei g on the pics

At those pricepoints there shouldn't be any issues to begin with, lol, but I guess in the end it's just your typical mass produced item like any Sideshow product...I've received 2 Predators,2 Aliens and 3 T-800's and these were all flawed to some degree. But what's most shocking to me is this AP Alien adventure...if I didn't knew any better I would think it was a bad joke...

I know what your saying Phil ,it shouldnt but it does and i dont think there is a company out there that does'nt have its problems ,but knowing a company will do what ever it can to help its good enough for me.

I agree, especially in this case where it only concerns 10 pieces...you would think they put extra care into it,
    certainly at that price.

In general I agree and episodes of this story were pretty messy, but have to say that after my personal experience with this I feel that Otto also has a point and that, at the end of the day, I somewhat feel like him.

Those pieces you speak of, were they brand new or aquired by third parties that could well be responsible for the damages?

1 Predator+ 1 TX (both sold to David) + 1 Alien + 1 T-800 brand new, rest were second hand pieces.I'm talking of flaws in the casts( Predator & Alien & TX & T-800) Lars besides the obvious issues that could have been damaged by third parties.
I apologise if I sound bitter but my perception is a direct result of my unfortunate experiences with cinemaquettes. As you know,I started as a huge cinemaquette fan but the feeling of having truly something special faded away with every new receivement.
Maybe I'm just too demanding... ..I can easily forgive a small issue on a $300 collectible but not on a $2000 one...

No apoligies needed Phil its your opinion and everyone is entitled to have one.My experence is different ,i haven,t been collecting cm not for very long now ,and the only problem i have had is with jack [his eye was flaking] which i had for 3 months roughly ,i was happy to know that i was offered a new one even though i had it that long which i know other companies would of made up plenty of excuses to palm me off.
I started collecting sideshow when they released hellboy and van helsing which were great quality ,but as the years went buy [and over 200 sideshow statues later] i noticed there quality was'nt as good as earlier statues eg paint apps , paint flake and leather deteorating,so got ride off them all except for a few ,the only reason i bought optimus is because i am a bit off a fan and im hoping i dont have any problems with him. :babble:

Despite everything I wholeheartedly agree that the Predator,Alien and the T-800 are three of the most desirable massproduced statues ever created. ...the only one I miss though is the T-800 CM...if I can ever track one down in perfect condition I would buy it again, only that one.
The Godfather is the only cinemaquette left in my collection right now.I've "refurbished" this one myself, lol.

There is a certain degree of variation on the T-800 lean pose. I can see why some feel the way they do on that one as some are more upright that others. The Predator has the inaccurate crown. The Alien also has a lean and the criticized pose with the feet/toes. None of them are perfect but the 3 make for an impressive display.
