I heard you say in one of your videos that you have been collecting about a year and a half. If you don't mind me asking, what prompted you to start?

In answer to your question Jet, yes I started collecting....tempting to say high end stuff, but around your collection I think I'll call it mid-range stuff, about 18 months ago.
In fact I started collecting movie figures about 7 or 8 years ago in the form of simple Neca and Mcfarlane.
It was only until I saw a video of the SS T-800 Arnold bust that I jumped in and started collecting Sideshow. It was a big step for me, I had never spent that kind of money on what I concidered at the time, just toys.
The rest is history, from then on I was picking up something new each month.
The amount I was spending was consistently rising....it's frightening how you start to get confortable paying out such amounts.
My most expensive item to date was the SS Wolf bust, and ok I know it's not perfect but I kid you not, everyone that has seen it in the flesh has been blown away by it's shear monstrous presence...and size!!
Some of my stuff admitably was just impulse buy, just because it was going cheap and had SS stamped on it. The Frankenstein PF was one of those moments... but to be fair the monster is a cult in classic horror so it's still nice to have him.
After seeing some of the collection that you guys have on here, I'm pretty sure I will be upping the ante to a Cinemaquette.
However I don't intend to convert completely to CM. The advantage of Sideshow is that I can pick up a piece on a fairly regular basis, if I convert completely to CM I'm probabley only going to end up having 2 or 3 pieces (at a push) a year. I don't think I could bare the wait of not picking up new stuff on a regular basis.
The one piece I'm really waiting for, and ok the films are crap, but the up-coming Predalian 1:1 bust is just stunning. Personally I would pick this bust up on looks alone, I don't care if I had never even seen an AVP movie, in fact I don't care if it didn't have any movie links a tall. The creature design of the AVP is just wild, love it.
Of course all this talk of buying more stuff is a double edged sword, as we all know...where do we put it all?
Sorry for going on, I'll come up for air

There is know doubt the Cinemaquette is imaculate in it's attention to detail and quality of materials but I agree, the SS has better likeness.

It's the biggest disappointment of my collection, what happened to Sideshow's quality?

I would like to collect more Hot Toys Enz but I have decided to concentrate on 1:1 busts and PF's......and maybe CM's later.

It would appear I was quite lucky with the specimen I received.
    [IMG][IMG]
However, there was something else about the bust but for the obvious QC problems that I didn't quite like.
Can't pinpoint it really, maybe it was the fact that 1:1 isn't my favourite format.

No, nothing of the like. It's probably just the lighting.
