But seriously, that's quite a lot of custom projects to fund there Lars, are you in the chips?

But being totally serious now, that Klingon Bird of Prey looks splendid. It has a power supply running to the base by the looks of it - does it light up?
Is it in scale with the Wrath of Khan QMX Enterprise? :naughty:

CHiPs... what the hell is that even? :baffled:
But, yeah, the 80's. Damn I love basically all the SciFi designs from that era. I'd totally go for a Galactica (rag-tag fleet, lol) or even Cylon Basestar but have to restrain myself.
So I was thinking how to best go about displaying a Cylon Raider so as to not make it look like a saucer on a stick. This here is the solution I came up with. Figure it will look nice as a duo environment which would have to be build from scratch though.
As for the Bird of Prey, yes this kit is supposed to have diodes incorporated. However, they're rare and there's only one new kit coming up which will be Studio Scale as seen at Wonderfest 2013. This, sadly, is humongous and pretty much out of the question.
But, again, many nice other designs around as well. Like Klingon K’Tinga Class as seen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture:

I especially like that Viper piece, with the detailed set :top:
When it comes to the Cylon Raiders, i think the ones from the re-imagined series are pretty menacing. Because of their looks, but also in large part because of their cybernetic nature, so it's not just a ship piloted by a three piece crew like in the original series, but it's actually a living, thinking being that chases you. The nasty thing is also that the consciousness of destroyed Cylon Raiders can be resurrected by Resurrection Ships so that they can get back into battle again with all the knowledge they have aquired in previous 'lives'.

Today I had to learn that the Bird of Prey model will be about 1m in length (expected), but almost 1,40m in width (had to gulp). :baffled:

These are approx. the dimensions of the HCG HK but then the other way around : 1,50m in lenght and 1m in width.

You know, on the one hand I like these kind of projects where I can determine the pace at which it all comes together.
On the other I have my doubts that it can achieve the kind of quality and finish (especially electronics) to stand on a par with the Enterprise. Not keen on having an oversized toy next to the E that simply dominates it by pure size.
Scale or lack of it is another factor. The E is 1/350th while the BoP would be more 1/110th. Then again, there's little to no reference in the movies with both ships side by side so if both models are 1m in length for display purposes, why not?
    Undecided... :hmm:

I guess I would at least try to make it happen but the size sadly is too much for me.
