The close up is now better then I expected , I do like the reaper , is why I have. Wangs reaper bust , I am really on the fence on this one , this truly would have been amazing in silicone and even being the reaper would have still put cm on top. I hope I will be able to see this in person at son of monsterpalooza , and that will make up my decision. That left arm I'm wondering if its like the vader leg , that in person it won't be bad at all . Still think a bit too much blood

If you have the Blade license and you do want to make a blade character wouldn't you at least try to make Jared Nomak (played by Luke Goss) instead of some generic reaper , I'm almost done with CM

Most definately a licensing thing since the "generic" elements are Wang's creation/property. Lets hope it will be reflected by the price.

It appears to have a light up feature in the base as well.

Noticed that - from memory I recall something of a similar design in the film. But as it stands - all white with a blue light up feature - it kinda looks like a macabre Apple iPod dock.

I agree with you Raf. In your professional opinion though do you think the level of mouth detail could have been replicated in silicon? And we're talking replicated by China here, not you in your garage with all your crazy dental acrylics!

Also the focus firmly seems to be on 'creatures' - by the looks of it from Steve's own back catalogue.

I think this could still be done in silicone without the dental acrylics , , the walking dead bust I have , at first I thought it had acrylic teeth , but when I got it , they are all part of the silicone casting , and they look great

Misgivings about the frustrating CM situation aside, this is vintage Steve Wang at its best. In terms of what I could make out so far on the show floor, ECC takes the cake for most intrinsic sculpt with this Reaper bar none. Yes the base is a train wreck and I pray to high heavens that it gets rebuild from scratch, starting with the offending Blade II plaque. But I also concede that if you get Steve Wang to sculpt something, better let him do his thing which is creatures and not likenesses/screen accuracy. The factory will be a huge factor in this, hopefully they can pull off another Pred quality item.

I don't disagree there , this is an amazing sculpt I mean its wang , and yes it is NOT cm and I have to get that into my head , that is why I'm having a bit of trouble missing the silicone , granted it is a creature , but a human creature , but silicone aside , ECC Will no doubt have a hell of a better paint job from china then most sideshow pieces as George I'm sure will make sure of that , I know if SS would have produced this even if wang sculpted it , the qc on the paint job would not be there and fans would get horrible specimens given the track record of ss, ( neytiri LSF , and what not , so I am confident ECC will deliver ,

The reaper is very well done (sculpt, paint, leather pants...)
But chinese factory can do same paintjob?...
    A big disapointment for me
My last hope is Raf's yoda ;)
So i can wait until next year for next CM...if there is one... i hope....
If nothing, Raf should make 1 silicon caractere per year ;)

A commitment to a full upper silicone body would have been amazing and a display of executive prowess. But as you say we might have to get used to the idea that it is a different company.

Seems like wang did not sculpt the reaper after all , or maybe parts?
Steve posted this pic on facebook , saying
Miyo posing with her sculpture of the concept reaper for elite creature collectables .

    Miyo is Steve Wang's girlfriend...
Steve W. on facebook: Ecc is partnered with CM and will be distributed by CM. So technically its a cm hybrid. they are both the same scale. We just won't be using silicone like cm.
